Our new cellar door tasting room has stunning views to Mount Canobolas and wide doorways to soak up the eastern and northern sun. The 6 x 16m building also has a disabled toilet, kitchen, bathroom, wine storage room and wine making area.

The high 30o angled roofline provides for a more stable temperature and solar panel orientation to the northern sun. Insulated colourbond walls add strength and durability. A northern pergola is to be added this summer. Red maple trees will provide summer shade and a native garden is being established above the rock retaining wall.

Solar power
The cellar door has a stand alone solar photovoltaic system to provide 240volt power. The solar panels charge four 24volt batteries which is then accessed back via an inverter. As heating is very demanding on power, LP gas is used to heat water and run a stove for cooking.
