TempranilloLee's 2008 Tempranillo
Tempranillo is a highly coloured, medium bodied red wine with vibrant raspberry and plum aromas. It is firm but soft wine style with savoury, dry tannins. Ageing in older French oak barriques has added further complexity to this lovely wine. Tempranillo is a very important variety from the Rioja Region of Spain where it produces some of the best wines in that country. It is relatively new to Australia and is well suited to the Orange Region as it has a similar climate to the Rioja. The cool climate of Orange helps improve grape colour and maintain the rich berry fruit flavours and fresh acidity. This variety ripens very early which explains the origin of the name from the Spanish “temprano”- meaning early or precocious. Merlot – available from Vintage 2009 in September 2010Hedberg Hill Order form |
